Good Health Can Be Deceiving

Each and every person is built differently. Some people have to work hard to maintain a great body, while some can eat whatever they want and never gain an ounce. I’m about to let you in on a little secret. Are you ready? Brace yourself…

Healthy appearances can be deceiving.

What exactly does that mean? It means that just because someone looks great on the outside, does not mean that they are in good health.

Living a healthy lifestyle takes work. It’s as black and white as that. There are no gray areas when it comes to being fit— at least when it comes to being fit inside and out. In order to get the most out of life, it is imperative that you take care of your body as a whole. The basic truth is this--your outward appearance will change over time. With this said, while you can’t always overpower the forces of aging on the outside, you can protect what goes on inside your body—with proper exercise and diet.

Illnesses and other health complications don’t just happen during your older years. They can very well seep into your youth if you are not taking proper care of yourself. You only get one body in life, so treat it well. You must always remember that it’s your body’s internal functions that prolong your life. Being in good health has nothing to do with your looks.

Poor nutrition and lack of exercise can lead to more than just illness. It can lead to issues such as body aches, digestive problems, toxins, nerve damage from lack of bone strength, and much more. If you’ve waited too long, and are already suffering, you can at least minimize the problems you may already have. If you’re still young and think you’re in good health, think again and make a change today. You need to take control of your life starting now in order to avoid frequent ailments and visits to the doctor.

BENEFITS OF COMBINING EXERCISE WITH PROPER NUTRITION

Nutrition and exercise go hand and hand. Don’t look at them as being independent from each other—think of them being equally important for staying in good health.

Exercise Benefits

  • Reduces the risk of dying prematurely
  • Reduces the risk of developing diabetes
  • Reduces the risk of developing high blood pressure
  • Reduces the risk of developing colon and breast cancer
  • Controls weight
  • Builds and maintains healthy bones, joints and muscles
  • Increases stability and flexibility
  • Reduces the risk of heart disease
  • Decreases feelings of anxiety and depression
  • Promotes psychological well-being

Nutrition Benefits

  • Reduces risk of developing diabetes
  • Reduces risk of high cholesterol
  • Reduces risk of cancer
  • Reduces risk of heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure
  • Controls weight
  • Promotes better vision
  • Strengthens bones
  • Promotes psychological well-being

Many exercise and nutrition benefits are similar, but you can increase good health by combining the two. Your body needs physical activity as well as a healthy diet in order to function properly now and in the future. Neglecting your body will catch up to you, sooner than you think. Even if you’re the type that burns calories before the burger touches your lips—poor health habits will eventually overpower you. Why take the risk? Don’t let appearances fool you. Start taking care of your body and it will take care of you for years to come.

"My trainer is systematically and good-humoredly kicking my formerly lazy butt at least twice a week, depending on my schedule. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the work I do with her has
allowed me to keep working (I'm a nurse) without injury. Hooray"
